Benevolence Fund

The Schoharie Reformed Church Benevolence Fund is an intentional way we tithe to assist in worthy causes locally, regionally, and globally.  This is a fluid fund supported by congregation members through regular giving above the general expense fund.  Each month a small group of leaders discerns where the funds are best spent based on requests received and known needs.  Funds are given confidentially and directly to service providers, we do not give out cash.

This fund cares especially about assisting families in need.  We ask those requesting funds seek all other avenues of social service support before making a request through an appropriate government or non-governmental agency such as Schoharie County Social Services or Schoharie County Community Action Program.  Do you know of or have a need?  Feel free to submit a request.  Please note, availability of funds varies and no there is no guarantee of funding nor timing.

This fund also assists other causes we deem worthy, such as social service and other partnering organizations as well as scholarships for kids to go to camp.  Do you know of a worthy cause in need of funding?  Feel free to make a suggestion.
